Billed subscription charges without notification
We first contacted this company for a test of promotion they offered for keywords. They charged us $7.95 and said we can test it. They then continued to charge our credit card, and when we requested a refund, they cancelled the subscription and refused.

Be warned ineedhits.com...

YES, I thought heck for 10 bucks give it a try, but they absolutely do NOTHING. They are a complete rip off. As a matter of fact, there is no live support like it says. It shows the IP address is in Dallas, Texas, but I get added FORIEGN charges on my credit card. I tried to cancell and set the cancel, but they ignore it.
THEY DO NOTHING
THE CHARGE MORE ON THE CREDIT
NO HITS AT ALL, NONE
I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHOW MY EMAILS WHERE THEY SAY THEY DO SOMETHING. And I can show you the Google analystics where only hits from my IP show. Clearly, they did nothing.

Google Adwords - Not Cheap Anymore

TAKES OVER

2 Years ago, if you had $100.00 a month in your Adword's account, that was plenty to get you on page one. Not any more.

I am speaking on average and of course, as always, there are exceptions. About a year and a half ago, I put up a DiscountWatchesUSA.com website where I sold watches from a drop ship company. My profits go to the ASPCA and Humane Society. The competition is fierce but we are USA and free shipping. So, we sold about 30 watches a month. Nothing to get rich by, but it helped the animal cause.

Google Shopping
Can't do it anymore.

Why? A bulk of our traffic was coming from Google Shopping. I had uploaded a list of our watches where they would display on Google Shopping. And, we had an Adwords account.

1. Merchant Account: Google stopped publishing our watches on Google Shopping without an explanation. I looked in the account Merchant Account and it said that the watches were not published but did not indicate why. I thought the data feed had a problem or some sort of technical glitch. I wrote Google Support and nothing but a canned response that they are looking into this. The short of it is, it took 3.5 months for them to tell us, they do not allow wholesalers who drop ship. When I created this account, that was not mentioned and the terms of service were updated. But that is NOT what I signed. How can you argue?
2. Adwords Account: Low quality landing page. Now, it had been fine for the previous 9 months, the same landing page. All of a sudden, no matter what keyword I entered, I got low relevnancey and low quality landing page. I sell watches, the keyword was 'watches', the landing was "Discount Watches" with brand names on the front page. How much quality or relevancy do you need?!!! You be the judge. DiscountWatchesUSA.com.

Now, at the time, we had 60 brands. We sold watches with Timex, Skagen, Casio, and so on all over the home page. How relevant can you get?? Because Google wants content, we had to put some more fluff text. But yet, we were not relevant, and the previous 9 months, we were 100% relevant and 100% quality score. Google made a mistake  !!! and that took 4.5 weeks to resolve without an apology, without maybe a $100 coupon they seem to so freely hand out, and no real explanation. This was prior to Christmas, the best selling time of the year. That did it. That was the straw that broke the camels back. Google cost my company thousands of dollars.

Here's the problem. When you step into Adwords, you are now a paying customer. This isn't free, we pay for this. I expect better support as a paying customer. But no, they are equally as bad, if not worse than the free services. It is shameful and almost laughable had I not lost so much money. I couldn't believe it. You can't call them, you can email them, but they will come back with a canned email that they are working on it. We all make mistakes, but not answering, delaying and no explanation and it taking weeks, I mean weeks and months, it is not forgivable.

This was not the first time, nor that last.

A year ago, $100.00 a month was all I needed to be on page one. Today, it would cost $600.00 and they are blocking the organic searches. We were fine on Merchant Accounts under Google Shopping.

Now you as a customer, will not see my store because Google decided my wholesaler who drop ships is not worthy. Why? You got free shipping. Business is all USA. Warehouse was in Texas. Brand name with warranties. BBB excellent ratings. But Google, yes Google decides drop shipping is not allowed. You loose the customer. We all lose.

These are just the facts, not my opinion, but my experience. If you have an issue with your account, whether it Adwords, Merchant Account, or any other service, how was your experience?

What is happening is that the bigger companies with the bigger marketing budgets are winning out. Just like newspapers, it is the business with the big bucks that can afford to put that quarter page ad on page one of the newspaper. Same thing here. Bing Adcenter even tells you in their tutorial that you should expect to pay a minimum of 500.00/ month. So Google, it is more like 800.00.

You have Google Tags and Google Boost which also adds another 25.00/ month, see:
Google Tags and Google Boost. In addition, just like Adwords Google Boost is another form of PPC, which is an addition to your Adwords cost. Oh, did you want a map with that ad? There are only 12-13 places on page one of Google. This is premium real estate. Just like with any other advertiser, the ones with the bigger bucks win. 800.00/ month is generally too much for the small business person. Where it used to be only $100.00 as an adjunct to your organic search results, it is too much to pay for so little pay back.

Google Takes Over, everyone else dies
Crawlers and spammers come along and click and it costs you money. Ads are not really relevant. Now, it may be okay for general information, but ecommerce businesses are suffering.

Where you might have been tempted as a business owner to run your own Adwords account. I would pay the extra $50.00 or $100.00/month for someone to manage it for you. Unless you are devoted to paying much time and energy on Google Adwords, Analytics, Webmaster and so on, you might be throwing your money down the drain.

It is not for kids anymore. The great equalizer is no more.
Please tell me your experience. Despite all of this, I have published many websites that are successful with the Google Adwords, but it wasn't easy. I had to create ads in other sites, I had to write articles, I had to write content on other sites which is very relevant, but if you only Tow Cars, then how much can you write? Sometimes you can have a very simple product and there isn't a lot to say. You want to advertise a towing service. This was perhaps the hardest, but most successful. I will tell you how in my next post.

Before I close, I will say this, Microsoft Bing's Adcenter has excellent support. I can call, email or even chat real time. They want to help you. You can have them set it up, or they will work with you. One night, I was on the phone an hour with them and was trying to get off the phone. They were almost too helpful. Hats off to Bing

Google Adwords: No Support ,No Free Coupons, No Chat anymore???

There isn't any. Here we have Google Adwords which is a PAID service. Unlike many other applications, hats off and thank you very much.
Now, we are in a different arena when one pays good money and in my case 650.00 a month for one business. You would think I would get some assistance.
There is no phone number, no chat, no direct email. You have to go through many steps of the help menu first.

What will happen is.

1. You write them and do not receive an immediate autoresponder.
2. You will get a canned response within 24 hours, but it is not immediate and is a standard text.
3. Then you wait.
4. You will be tempted to write again because there is an expectation that you should receive support especially since you are paying.
5. Then after a few days, you will get a response, that does NOT include your orignial question. The answer will be from their help text. Nothing personal, nothing specific to your question.
6. You will have to write again.
7. In a week, they may write back and apologize and say they are looking into it.
8. In about 3 weeks, you get your final answer but it doesn't really answers it specifically because again, their "answer" is full of links to their help section.
9. Most often, the links give a 404 error.
10. There is no back and forth.

 They will wear you out.

I would think better of them if they in the many emails, asked me something. If they were truly interested in solving the issue, my thoughts were, they would ask me, which section, which words, which ads. So, I know they are not focused on the solutions but answer as many as possible with minimal pissing off patrons.

Bad business.

By contrast, Microsoft has wonderful support. Immediately, you can call or chat. Or, you can email, or use their help. There AdCenter is much like Adwords and has a few other options. If you want to see the pro and cons, please read  here.

See below, a quick screen shot. Now the good news, you don't pay as much per click. I find that I can get more with .50 cents where as with Google it is 2.50. Why, because there is less traffic. So, why not be a big fish in small pond with MS. Keep Adwords, but use MS Adcenter.

So, my point????
Before Google takes over the iworld, let's all rise up and complain and demand better service. Microsoft has coupled with Yahoo to gain back traffic, but it may be awhile. The under dog always has to try harder. I think it is time we knock Adwords down a peg. I don't mean to uruly and make up stuff and be mean. I mean tell the truth. I have written Google and they apologize, but they don't answer the questions and take care of their customers. You will see if you haven't already. Those who read this, if I get a big enough following, like signing a petition, I will set that up.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Microsoft AdCenter and Google Adwords and SEO

Webworks Blog

Have You wondered how much more web traffic you will get by using Microsoft Adcenter? Compared to Google Adwords?

Well, here is the story. Pros and Cons. Google Adwords is more popular, but Microsoft Adcenter is far superior when it comes to support.

That said, lack of communication whether it be support or a simple question can cost you traffic, clicks and customers. Google may have more traffic, but their support is shameful. This is not just my opinion, but you will hear all over the internet. When you enter the world of a paid service, then you expect and deserve support in a timely fashion.

Google AdWords is nothing more than canned responses. It takes an average of 3 weeks to resolve a simple matter. Why? Because you have to go through the standard text response for a few communications, generally a week apart. Then you will get an email to tell you they are working on it. Then you get an answer that really does not explain because you never got a chance to communicate with them. This happened over Christmas with a client's account. It was nothing we could fix, it was something that Google had determined that this client web address was low quality ALL of a SUDDEN. The account had been running for the better part of a year, and all of a sudden, all the keywords were irrelevant. It was a discount watch store. Even words like "watch" were deemed irrelevant. That is crazy. Without explanation, all of a sudden it started working again. No apology, over Christmas, and thousands of dollars lost in potentials sales in the previous weeks before Christmas. It was awful. It was so bad, I couldn't not believe it.

By contrast, Microsoft Adcenter, which is Yahoo and Bing combined as this occurred recently. You can email and receive a real response. You are assigned a confirmation number immediately. You can click on Chat  and someone answers within seconds. Real help. You can call !!!

Not only that, but Microsoft Adcenter will let you sign up for free for the optimized program. You work with them to learn, or just say "hey, you do it". In other words, their support is superior. I am speechless. I would love to tell more, and I will in my next blog.

In a more technical level, I would like to compare the pros and cons based on the application. For example, MS Adcenter, allows you to enter . Instead of entering a keyword in your ad, you enter a placement word. This is a way of having one ad display the keywords the user types in. Google does not.

Google, allows you define the location by a radius. Show ads in a 30 mile radius from a zip code perhaps, where with MS, you have enter the cities and the aggregate will be the location. The is a moot point if you are not advertizing locally.

One word of caution with the custom map location is, that is goes by IP address. So for non-mobile ads, let's say I want to display ads in Virginia. I am not far from Washington DC or Maryland. ( DC metro ). But, the business is in Virginia and by law, this business is licensed in VA and cannot accept DC or MD customers. So, I make my ad for Virginia. I live in VA.  But, my IP shows that I am in Baltimore, MD, sometimes DC. Why???  Because the IP address is my ISP's address, not mine. Check it out.

Go to http://www.whatsmyip.org/, then get your IP address and click on http://www.geobytes.com/iplocator.htm. You will see, that in most cases, it will not be the town you actually live in. It is from the CO of your ISP. Sometimes it will be fine, but what I am saying, it could show you in a totally different state. Therefore, I live 2 miles from this business, and if I were to type in that business keywords, it will never display because it shows I am in Washington DC. ( Please note, if you type your keyword, and include Virginia, it will show Virginia). But the idea is, to save money on clicks for not showing your local business across the states sine they are not going to drive 3 thousand miles. Be careful and you should use the Preview tools rather than the actual internet as it can cost you points in the page ranking world. I will explain that next.

Free Tools Advertising On The Web: Free Tools to Advertize on the Web

Free Tools Advertising On The Web: Free Tools to Advertize on the Web: "Vol 1. 1 - 02/24/2010 Where do I start to market my business? * First, you have to define your goals. Are you an e-commerce site, do you..."

High Rankings in Google

Hi everyone,

I like Google but, we had an issue. Now resolved, but this could happen to you.

As a webmaster of many websites, I see my ranking change when changes it's algorithm. This is the criteria used to decide who has been value. In my AdWords account for a site called DiscountWatchesUSA.com,  my ad was running just fine for months. Then in late July and August, I received all lows scores for my keywords. No matter what keyword I used, Google put a low quality score and ad will not be shown. Now, I sell watches. Even "watches" would not show.

The cause, poor landing page quality. But here is the deal, I sell watches. My content is watches. They are discounted. I have the brands listed and for 6 months my site has been fine. I knew Google wants to see more content, but hey, I am an e-commerce website. I shouldn't have to write articles about the history of watches. I shouldn't have to show 100 watches on page instead of 25 because it will show more watches and increases the content. Why do I have make my site bad, so Google will deem it worthy?

So, I write Google. I get these canned messages for weeks. In frustration, I tell them as a paying customer, AdWords cost money, so I expect some customer service. I went through these laborious FAQs, Help, which never answered my question. What changed?

Finally, I had a person that responded to my issue with DiscountWatchesUSA.com. I read all the criteria for landing page quality, but the deal was, it was no different that day, than it was in January. So, why is it not showing?

On top of that. I had several landing pages. You know you can add keywords with a spreadsheet and specify keyword to URL (landing page). So which landing page? It did not make sense. Soon, it was mystery fixed. All is back to normal. I ask why, and they can't answer it.

So, I was down for 6 weeks because:

  • I couldn't get a hold of a person
  • I couldn't even get to a form with a comment box
  • I received responses that were canned and just told me to read the FAQ
  • They never did answer the question as to why
  • I never did get an apology
  • I was left with feeling very uncertain about Google.

I sell watches and that is what I do plain and simple. Free Shipping and I donate profits to the Humane Society.
